Coordinate online learning programs for the National Deaf Center on Postsecondary Outcomes.
Coordinate the development, implementation and maintenance of online instructional programs. Utilize best practices in teaching and learning to design and develop instructional activities and materials. Evaluate and develop assessment items to track participant learning. Develop and modify curriculum as needed to meet expectations for instructional programs. Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional materials to ensure that objectives are being accomplished. Coordinate production of instructional materials in areas such as project milestones, budget, consultants, resource time, and logistics. Plan and conduct offerings such as workshops, seminars, and one-on-one development sessions related to instructional programs. Keep abreast of new developments in pedagogy and instructional technology.
Other related functions as assigned.
Master's degree in instructional design, educational psychology, curriculum and instruction, or related areas. Three years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, online teaching, or instructional technology. Three years of experience working with deaf students or clients in education, access services, or rehabilitation counseling. Evidence of project coordination skills. Clear and effective communication skills. Professional demeanor. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Five years or more of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, online teaching, or instructional technology. Five years or more of experience working with deaf students or clients in education, access services, or rehabilitation counseling. Fluency in American Sign Language.
May work around standard office conditions
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
Occasional overnight travel.
A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
