The Pharmacy Technician II provides technical expertise, knowledge and ownership in assisting in the total quality management of the distributive functions of the pharmacy in compliance with department policies and state and federal regulations and under the supervision of a pharmacist.
EDUCATION: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Required: Registration in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or pharmacist-intern participating in a board-approved internship program; ACPE-approved certification in sterile product preparation
EXPERIENCE: Required: At least 6 months experience as a Pharmacy Technician at South Austin Medical Center or 1 year Hospital experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital with at least 200 beds; Experience in sterile product preparation, computer order entry, review of physician orders and direct interaction with nursing staff
