General Description

Summary / Overview:

A PI-Systems Administrator uses extensive knowledge of Samsung specific systems WGPM, eSPEC, and MGuide to create, maintain, and approve process flow changes, spec target/limits, interlocks, metro sampling, and perform general troubleshooting tasks related to these systems. As a PI-Systems Administrator, you will have the opportunity to work closely on cross functional teams to create process flows, create/maintain MGuides, execute fab-wide process changes, and troubleshoot issues. Because eSPEC/WGPM control the steps, recipes, equipment types, queue times, metro sampling, etc…that production lots run with in the fab flawless execution, organized project planning, and excellent communication/people skills are all required. A typo or incorrect setting could result in a high volume of material scrap and/or production delays. A PI-Systems Administrator must also be creative in tackling open ended issues/problems and working well with Unit Parts, Metrology, DE, Q&R, EDS, and the PIE teams to safely test and solve these issues. He/she must be able to drive meetings to resolve complex, urgent issues, and must be able to provide recommendations on the safest and fastest solutions. Multi-tasking with speed and accuracy is also needed, balancing maintenance of existing process flows/MGuides with creating new flows/MGuides and troubleshooting unexpected issues.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Create/Maintain/Approve Process flow Specs (STEPSEQ, PPID, Queue times, Rework, etc....)

  • Create/Maintain/Approve Target Specs (Target, USL, LSL, Grade, etc…)

  • Create/Maintain/Approve MGuide

  • Capable of troubleshooting challenging, open-ended ESPEC/WGPM/ECO issues and working with UPs/DE/MI/SE.

Create/Maintain SOPs and Workflows, WGPM Reference Documents, and SharePoint ECO FAQ page.

Necessary Skills / Attributes

Education, Training, Experience:

Detailed knowledge and 2+ years’ experience with WGPM and eSPEC systems.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Excellent Communication/People skills:

  • Lead and coordinate complex changes with multiple groups (PIE/Process/Manufacturing/Metrology/Etc…) without risk/delays to production.

  • Working with these groups to push approvals for change points.

  • Develop SOPs, workflows, and training materials to improve both team and site best practices

  • Flawless Attention-to-detail:

  • Work must be consistently error-free. Process flow creation involves thousands of fields on multiple tables to be populated correctly - one typo can lead to production scrap or delays.

  • Must be able to follow/create/maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Careful auditing ability to review submissions for errors & reviewing requests before approval.

  • Strong General Computer and Database administration skills:

  • Work will require efficient and error-free use of Samsung-specific systems.

  • Ability to create custom macros/scripts a plus (not required).

  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues/conflicts:

  • Each Team member owns/maintains specific devices and must prioritize their change points.

  • Coordination with multiple groups (PIE/Process/Manufacturing/Metrology/Systems Engineering/Etc…) is required to resolve open-ended systems issues without risk/delay to production.

  • Refine workflows, business processes, and system authority levels to promote both efficiency and quality.

  • Organized Projection planning/Multi-tasking:

  • Multiple changes points are often bundled together, requiring ability to negotiate with several groups of people to optimize execution method and timing.

  • Positive Attitude and Flexibility:

  • Off-hour night/weekend coverage is sometimes required for urgent issues.

  • Flexibility to work on a mix of both repetitive and unique tasks in the systems.

  • Willingness to adapt positively to rapid change.

  • Ability to address high-pressure situations involving mass production quickly and safely.
