Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford is seeking a Radiographer in the Radiology Department
Full Time: Hours - Mon-Fri 8:30a-4:00p
Minimum Education Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an AMA approved Radiology Program.
Minimum Licensure / Certification Requirements:
Current ARRT and Texas Licensure is required.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR).
Minimum Experience Requirements:
None required - (New Grads Welcome)
6 months directly-related Radiology and CT experience preferred.
Minimum Skill Requirements:
Excellent communication skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to make independent decisions while maintaining tact, maturity and a positive attitude. Initiative and judgment required in assuming responsibilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with PC/Windows.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Produces radiographs according to accepted standards utilizing appropriate protocols.
Performs diagnostic procedures.
Processes images according to protocol.
Transports patients as necessary according to established protocols.
Incorporates the National Patient Safety Goals including but not limited to improving the accuracy of patient identification, improve the effectiveness of communication among caregivers and improve the effectiveness of the clinical alarm system.
Radiographic positioning and techniques and principles of radiation protection.
Operate diagnostic radiographic equipment.
Requires knowledge of PACS and Flexi-Rad system.
Safe transportation methods.
Use of stretchers, wheel chairs and assisting ambulatory patients.
Communicate through listening, writing and verbal skills.
Lifting or supporting patients, bending, and reaching.
Adapts care measures to reflect age-specific and developmental considerations.
Individualizes care based upon age-specific needs for the listed age groups: Neonates (1-30 days)
Infant (31 days-1 year), Pediatrics (1 year – 12 years), Adolescents - (13 - 18 years), Adults - (19 – 70 years), Geriatrics (70+ years)
Track patient exams in Flexi-Rad according to established protocol.
Add additional charges in Flexi-Rad related to the patient exam to ensure correct billing.
Requires knowledge and understanding of Windows, PACS , and Flexi-Rad system.
Effectively operate a P.C.
Operates portable radiographic equipment in various areas of the hospital.
Requires knowledge of operating procedures for portable radiographic equipment.
Bending, pushing, lifting, reaching, walking and carrying.
Perform other duties as assigned.
