The Manager of OIT Outreach, Events and Communications will manage the execution of technology awareness and communications initiatives for the Office of Information Technology (OIT). This is accomplished through a variety of awareness and outreach activities including, but not limited to, OIT and vendor events, social media, meet and greets, partnering with campus offices and departments and facilitating activities and meetings across campus. The Manager will also oversee OIT web development, OIT communications, and event planning.

Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business information systems or related field. Five to seven years or more of progressively responsible experience in the area of specialization; OR the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Two years supervisory experience overseeing information resources professionals.

Information technology experience is a plus
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Effectively coordinate the development, design, approval, production, and distribution of outreach and communication materials, both electronic and printed.
Effectively plan events across campus, including our premier one-day Innovation and Technology Summit.
Edit and review all outreach, communications, documents, and projects to ensure departmental brand continuity.
Oversee OIT Web presence
Coordinate OIT social media initiatives
Coordinate communications for all major service outages or new service offerings.
Coordinate communication plans for all major IT projects.
Manage student employee content development, design, and emerging technology teams.
Foster best practices and collaboration by sharing and internal communication with department counterparts.
Ensure department compliance with established standard policies and procedures. Monitor and report expenditures as it relates to this team.
Supports OIT Leadership and staff to develop and implement outreach and communications plans, including OIT campus event participation, websites, and outreach materials.
Act as liaison between management, technical staff, Office of Communications, and the creative design team.
Act as a brand steward, upholding brand identity, communication standards and consistency in all projects.
