Position Summary

Prepare and perform HgCdTe LPE material growth as well as post growth processing. This includes, but is not limited to HgCdTe/CdZnTe material handling, chemicals handling, LPE reactor operation, FTIR measurement, and final material inspection. Provides technical support to engineers and scientists on moderately complex components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment

Basic Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Education:Associates degree in a technical discipline with 5+ yrs. experience (or equivalent education/ experience in the field or in a related area).

  • U.S. Citizenship is required


  • Experience in semiconductor material growth and processing.

  • Proficient in Math and computer skills such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and database access.

  • Work experience in a Class 100 clean room.

  • Work with chemicals and solvents

  • Exceptional manual dexterity.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and excellent data collection and reporting skills

  • Must be able to work autonomously as well as in a group setting.

  • Microscope capability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operation of required equipment in LPE material growth.

  • Performing metrology (FTIR) measurements on product.

  • Product preparation and cleaning using acids and solvents.

  • Utilizing a database to track materials and perform calculations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Conditions

  • Lifting – Ability to lift 25 lbs, 4 times per week.

  • Standing 50%

Work Conditions

  • Must be able to work in a class 1000 environment and wear, smock, hair net, safety glasses, and required shoes.

  • Flexibility in schedule to work OT.
