Texas Health Resources Sterile Processing Technician in Dallas, Texas

Qualifications/Duties:

Texas Health Dallas Hospital is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Tech in the Sterile Processing Department. As needed Monday - Sunday Variable days and shifts possible.

Minimum Education Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Minimum Certification Qualifications/Duties:

Minimum Licensure / Certification Requirements:

BLS within 30 days of hiring required

CRCST Sterile Processing certification required

Minimum Experience Requirements:

1 year experience in sterile instrument processing preferred

Minimum Skill Requirements:

Positive attitude and outstanding interpersonal communication skills with a keen ability to successfully multitask in a dynamic and fast paced health care environment. Team player. Flexible. Self discipline and attention to detail. Follow directions appropriately as directed by the recommended practices sterile instrument processing of AORN and AAMI.

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collects, decontaminates, assembles, sterilizes and disperses instrument trays and supplies for the surgery department, other hospital departments and physicians based in the hospital. Must be able to prioritize customer needs.

Must know the basic instruments and the proper techniques for assembling sets.

Must be able to lift trays up 30 lbs.

Correctly operates sterilizers and decontamination equipment. Performs routine testing on all units per department procedures and policies and maintains records of testing.

Collaborates with members of surgical teams and other departments regarding their needs or requests.

Orients new employees and surgical associates about sterile processing and instrument room tasks specific for each job position.

Perform other duties as assigned.
