Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits Trade Development Analyst, 4Site in Dallas, Texas
Serves as a primary Southern Glazer’s source for collection, analysis, and interpretation of customer Point of Sale Data and development of Business Intelligence tools (4Site/Qlikview), including incorporation of external databases as needed.
Responsible for the development, administration and maintenance of databases and interfaces necessary to drive business intelligence tools supporting strategic accounts business analysis. Is product expert in the tools designed as well as the software packages and databases required to support/develop 4Site applications.
Responsible for working directly with and training Trade Development and Sales personnel in the development and use of business intelligence tools, while maintaining the databases necessary to drive the various tools and analyses. Also responsible for training personnel in the development and use of the various database coding processes required to drive business analysis and the decision making process with customer specific business intelligence tools.
Have a basic understanding of network and systems architecture. Responsible for the maintenance of the network environment where the platform resides and the relationship with information technology partners who support the overall Southern Glazer’s BI initiatives.
Structure, incorporate, interpret and validate all data sources, including but not limited to retailer point-of-sale, Nielsen scan data, demographic or consumer panel data, and internal shipment data for targeted use by chain sales, trade development, and executive leadership to drive the business as allowed by the accounts supported.
Investigates issues and components of data sets for all states supporting all business intelligence tools and is responsible for presenting findings/recommendations to Trade Development Leadership for approval.
Partners with Southern Glazer’s Trade Development and Sales Teams to develop strategic data modeling alternatives for key internal customers and retail accounts directly. Creates market information tools for assessment, measurement and management of long-term category/portfolio management tools and assesses performance and economic value of the Southern Glazer’s represented brands to the business.
Required Data Tools Experience:
Thorough knowledge of scripting, data modeling and advanced GUI development, preferably in QlikView tools
Developing enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) solutions
Sourcing data from disparate systems with a good understanding of Data Models and ETL procedures
Ensuring data quality processes, data cleansing and data transformation.
Developing “end-to-end” implementation of BI projects, scorecards, KPIs, reports & dashboards
Knowledge of database architecture and design
Knowledge of formal database architecture and design
Advanced skills in Microsoft office products; focus on Access and Excel
Knowledge of Tableau considered a plus
General Background Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, information systems, market research, statistics or the equivalent thereof in related experience. Masters degree considered a plus.
1-3+ years of experience in data platforms with strong analytical skills. Specifically required is a background in the collection, development and analysis of retailer point of sale data.
Prefer prior use of syndicated data (IRI/Nielsen), Spectra, Household panel data enabling understanding and relationships to retailer point of sale data.
Prior experience in the liquor, food, or grocery wholesale/distribution business considered valuable.
Travel expectations of 10% - 20% with advance notice.
