We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Financial Analyst within our Corporate Accounting Department based in Houston, TX. Essential Functions: · Responsible for monthly closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and other required reporting. · Prepare variance explanations for current month activity compared to outlook and budget. · Prepare budget for Oil & Gas executives and management. · Work with several groups to help them understand their overhead costs and allocations. · Problem solving, analytical thinking and communicating with other departments as necessary to accomplish accounting objectives. · Prepare summary schedules to be included in reporting packages for executive management. · Prepare schedules to assist tax in allocation of costs. · Provide accounting/finance technical support to business units as needed. · Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 21 hours of accounting · Minimum of 3 years of related professional work experience · Self-motivated and hardworking individual · Strong analytical and communication skills; comfortable dealing with peers and management · Establishes and maintains effective relationships with peers · Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlines · Willing to work after hours as needed in order to meet deadlines · Seeks additional responsibilities as learning progression occurs · Continuing development in functional/technical skills · Adapts well to changes in responsibilities and workloads · Good problem solving and time management skills · Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
