          Title: PAS Training Specialist

          General Summary:

          Provides the educational content for orientation and continuing education necessary for the Patient Access Services (PAS) staff to perform job responsibilities functions and processes.

          Participates in conducting needs assessments competency assessments quality reviews and IT systems testing/monitoring to determine educational needs.

          Energetically provides optimal delivery of content and evaluation of learning utilizing a variety of design mediums.

          This position receives direction from and reports to the Manager of PAS Quality Education and Customer Service and works collaboratively with the PAS Leadership Team and staff.

          Minimum Job Qualifications:

          Minimum Education: Some College

          Preferred Education: Four Year Degree

          Other Education: 3-5 years of Patient Access Experience

          Can you substitute experience for education: Yes

          Minimum years in field previous to employment: 3

          Preferred number of years in field: 5


          • 50 college credits required.

          • Patient Access registration experience required to include all areas of Patient Access. (3 yrs minimum).

          • Patient Access experience with Scheduling Insurance Verification Authorizations Pre-Certification Financial Clearance and Pre-Registration required. Understanding of insurance contracts a plus.

          • Demonstrated knowledge and hands on skills of the full intake process.

          • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

          • Proficiency in Word PowerPoint and Excel.

          • Understanding of business office practices and bill flow processing.

          • Able to support all Patient Access areas in and out of the main Hospital.

          • Able to multi-task between projects and assignments.

          • Must have flexibility with schedule.

          • Educational experience - preferred

          • Educational experience in Healthcare - preferred.
