Invesco Product Governance Manager in Houston, Texas
Job Purpose (Job Summary): Global Product Governance& Support (GPGS) provides support to all regional product partners to achieve global strategic product priorities. The team seeks to improve processes, mitigate risks, and manage priorities across the North America Product Strategy & Development (PSD) and Solutions teams.
The Product Governance Manager (PGM) role provides project management support for PSD and GPGS. The PGM oversees initiatives in support of the global product pipeline, U.S. and Invesco Product Committees, and the Invesco Solutions team. The PGM manages Global Product Forum activities, coordinates the governance process for products globally, and leads the annual strategic planning effort. These responsibilities include related periodic and ad hoc tracking and reporting. The role involves close partnership with local Product leaders and teams, regional Product Committees, and functional support teams such as Legal and Compliance, Distribution, Investment Centers, Trading, Accounting, and Global Operations. The position will report to the Head of Global Product Governance & Support.
The ideal candidate is a highly effective project manager and communicator, team-oriented and comfortable engaging with all levels of the business. This role requires someone who has strong project management skills, including being very organized with good attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. He/she should be adept at anticipating issues and bringing groups together to find solutions and/or reach consensus. Working with Invesco contacts in various global locations and fostering innovation and solutions in order to deliver a superior investment experience to our clients should give energy and motivation to the person in this role. An entrepreneurial spirit and propensity to build deep relationships are all qualifying characteristics for success. The GPGS group requires the highest level of professional integrity in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Manage multiple projects in support of the PSD and GPGS teams, taking direction from senior managers across the group.
Support the U.S. and Invesco Product Committees, organizing meeting agendas, reviewing and providing guidance on materials, managing logistics and reporting outcomes.
Manage the annual strategic product planning process, including timeline, meeting logistics, and preparing the aggregated summary plan for the IPC’s and SMDs’ approval.
Act as a source for best practices for North America product strategy and development. Support process improvement exercises across the teams, developing process documents and templates for Product and others’ use.
Manage the global product pipeline reporting, including seed and co-investment forecast, pipeline initiative updates, and ad hoc requests for global product information.
Oversee the logistics and agendas for the Global Product Forum activities, including annual Summit and periodic planning meetings. Work with Head of Product Strategy & Development to develop agenda topics and source research.
Support the Solutions and Jemstep teams, including organizing and managing the Invesco Solutions Forum, supporting strategic planning meetings, and managing projects as directed.
Communicate effectively with all regional product teams, stay current on product initiatives, share ideas and best practices across teams and provide guidance on the governance process.
Assist with special projects or new responsibilities as needed
Work Experience / Knowledge:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in asset management firm, global experience preferred
Technical knowledge of pooled investment vehicle structures and financial regulation
Experience in an investment product, compliance, operational and/or accounting teams is preferred

- Undergraduate degree required, master’s degree preferred
