Job Description

Webster, TX - The Senior Applications Engineer provides high level of Non Destructive Testing (NDT) technical sales support and product support to sales representative and for customers in all phases of the sales process. In addition to supporting the sales team and customers, the incumbent will assist product management by providing technical and market intelligence during all phases of the product life. Job Duties:

  • Serve as high level resource to the NDT Sales force with System Integration as well as with advanced equipment. (Ultrasound, Phased Array and Eddy Current)

  • Handle the most complex issues and serve as an escalation resource of difficult problems for Applications Engineers and Scientists.

  • Assist in mentoring junior engineers.

  • Work on in-house applications and write feasibility studies.

  • Travel to customer sites for troubleshooting, demonstration, evaluation and testing of specific parts/applications.

  • Provide training (internal and/or external) on the system and advanced equipment.

  • Write technical specifications during proposal process.

  • Perform on-site training forsystems and integrationsproducts (FocusPX,FocusPC, SDK, TomoView, etc) which can include up to 3-5 days of on-site support involvingsystems and integrationsproducts and customers specific applications.

  • Field customer calls and help diagnose and troubleshoot problems over phone and via webex

  • Travel to North America and Latin America.

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Physics or other applicable technical field is required.

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is required.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with customer support is required.

  • High degree of computer proficiency is essential.

  • Must be a quick learner for both hardware and software use and functionality.

  • Experience in computer applications that may include remote control of customer’s computer to initiate repair is preferred.

  • Must have excellent verbal and communications skills.

  • Must have logical troubleshooting abilities.

  • Must be able to function well both in a group, and as an individual contributor.

  • Must have a strong commitment to teamwork.

  • Ability to assist and mentor more junior employees is preferred.

  • Must be able to visualize problems, and effectively communicate complex tasks.

  • Ability to travel significantly is essential (up to 60%).
