Cook/Server Reports to: Store Manager/Deli Manager Employment Status: Variable Location: Edinburg BASIC PURPOSE: This position is responsible for serving and preparing the food to be served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. The cook is responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste and fraud. Job Responsibilities Provide fast, friendly, and professional customer service Food handling knowledge and follow uniform policy Able to follow recipes for food preparation and service procedures Maintain Cooler stocked and practice rotation of the product goods Sell/promote and engage customers in the Plenti card program General cleaning duties which include but are not limited to washing dishes, sweeping/mopping and general housekeeping practices Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor Competencies Basic math skills: must have a fair knowledge of basic calculations Excellent communication skills: this position involves interaction with the public and as such requires the ability to communicate orally and in writing (English/Spanish preferred) Available to work all shift schedules: stores operate 24 hours a day Ability to pay attention to details Work Experience One year of experience in kitchen environment (Preferred) Education High School Diploma/GED (Required) Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.
