ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND JOB PURPOSE The INEOS O&P USA business manufactures and markets Ethylene, Propylene, Butadiene, Polypropylene and Polyethylene. Manufacturing sites include Chocolate Bayou Works (Alvin, TX), Battleground Manufacturing Complex (LaPorte, TX), and Carson PP Unit, (Carson, CA), with a division office in League City, TX. The O&P USA business hosts its own in-house Information Technology department. How the Role Fits In: Provide direct support in the maintenance of company's business applications, and well as the management of projects relating to the development of new applications The individual performs complex tasks that must be coordinated with tasks outside the work unit; The individual provides advice and counsel to IT management. Environment: Unavailability of IT assets can have direct, negative impact on business performance. The role is necessary to ensure employees in the company can remain productive and business processes that rely on technology continue to function. The expectation is for this person to work independently of direct supervision for assignments unless assistance is requested. Expected to lead projects and look at innovative ways of resolving issues. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES The individual determines the best means of defining and accomplishing broadly defined jobs. Actively supports developing and sharing of best practices within the broader organization. Generates new ideas and stimulates others for innovation. Has the additional responsibility of procedure and guideline development. The employee determines priorities and may deviate from established procedures as long as objectives are met. No direct monitoring of the job is needed. Uses established fact-finding procedures, knowledge of pertinent processes and procedures, and familiarity with related programming practices, software, and hardware to provide required analysis of user problems. Leads in the analysis of project proposals; identifies potential problem areas, and recommends optimum approaches for project path, utilizing specific area of technical expertise. Analyze and assess current processes and define/document improvements. Monitor and maintain standard BI reports. Provide technical support for ad-hoc reporting including overseeing the development and organization of new standard reports. Review and restructure the company reporting environments to include consistency of information, functionality, content clean-up and overall content management. Leads in Development and Maintenance of integrated information systems. Provides recommendations on system architecture for new applications or integrated systems. Recommends, Develops, and Maintains standards for development and administration Is proactive in improving user support, system administration and procedures Manages application implementation projects, including coordination of work done by 3rd parties. Provides mentoring and training for the rest of the staff in the applications support team Directs the work of project team members (both INEOS and 3rd Party) for large scale projects. Leads in the development of training materials and assists in conducting training sessions and workshops during the rollout of new or modified applications, or as needed Work with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures. Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets. Create models for new database development and/or changes to existing ones. Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements. Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
