The Sr. Project Manager handles all financial issues for the Facilities Services Department. Responsible for contract administration for unit rate, T&M and lump sum construction contracts including technical bidding, PO awards, invoicing, project cost tracking and historical tool cost tracking.
Works with Procurement to assemble bid packages, evaluates contractor bids, negotiates rates, and finalizes cost agreements for purchase orders (POs).
Assembles estimates for projects, requests project funding, requests contractor POs based upon approved rates, reviews and approves contractor invoices, tracks multiple project costs from a budgetary standpoint.
Tracks cost of current tool installations and maintains historical tool costs for budgeting purposes.
Tracks the status of all project POs, and requests PO increases as necessary (Contractor scope of work is developed and assigned over the life of a project).
Oversees the tool cost verification process (contractor invoicing) for unit rate and T&M work.
Provides various monthly cost reports.
Documentation of all project, PO, and cost data is required for audit purposes.
Necessary Skills / Attributes
Bachelor's Degree Required.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Masters in Business Administration preferred.
4 years minimum experience with project/construction work desired.
Good people skills are required.
Must be able to work with and coordinate cost and construction issues with personnel within the department and personnel from other departments.
Must be able to clarify contractual and cost issues with contractors in order to confirm PO agreements and invoicing.
Good negotiating skills are required.
Knowledge of piping, sheet metal and electrical construction is necessary in order to evaluate contract rates/invoices.
Good Excel skills are required in order to input and evaluate large quantities of cost data.
Decent Word and PowerPoint skills are needed for reports and presentations.
