Southern Management Corportation Customer Service Representative in Garland, Texas

SUMMARY:The Customer Service Representative provides assistance to customers in making loans, making payments and collecting past due accounts.


  • Assists Branch Manager in the closing and refinancing of loans, upon demonstration of skill mastery.

  • Greets customers at the branch and via telephone in a professionalmanner.

  • Processes credit loan applications, loan refinances and other loandocuments.

  • Works with past due customer accounts via telephone

  • Prepares activity reports for the BranchManager.

  • Completes daily and monthly closeoutprocedures.

  • Provides customer credit experience to inquiring creditors and creditbureaus.

  • Services accounts, including the processing of payments.

  • Prepares for daily bankdeposits and completes the Cash Count Record daily.

  • Balances the cash drawer daily and maintains correct amounts and denominations of money.

  • Assists in mailing renewal and collections materials.

  • Opens and distributesmail.

  • Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations governing the Company’s business.

  • Completes periodic reports on branch progress, delinquency and other information.

  • Transports money and deposits to and from the bank with appropriate escorts, as definedby policy.

  • Performs other activities, as needed and directed by Company management.


  • High School Degree or equivalent.

  • English fluency is required. In some locations, additional fluency in Spanish is desired.

  • Prior experience in customer service, collections, finance, or banking field is preferred.

  • Willingness to relocate is NOT required for this role.


  • Ability to provide excellent customer services and build relationships.

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail andaccuracy.

  • Ability to multitask, effectively manage time and meet daily, monthly and quarterlydeadlines.

  • Ability to establish partnerships with employees/liaisons from Corporate.

  • Computer proficiency.

  • In GA & SC, employees must, as a condition of employment, apply and be granted a State insurance sales license AND receive appointment by the insurance carrier authorizing the employee to sell their product. This process involves both organizations evaluating an employee’s credit, criminal, and driving history.


  • Must pass drug and background screens.

  • Required to have and maintain a valid driver’s license and current autoinsurance.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:This position is full-time, approximately 40hrs/week that may include some evenings and Saturdays. Periodic overtime may be required. Regular, timely, and predictable adherence to assigned work schedule is an essential function of the job.
