Facility Engineer

Description

As a Tridium Engineer (Facilities Engineer 2) at Caterpillar,you will work independently and as part of a team to analyze and recommendsystems, procedures, training and equipment needs based on customerrequirements. In addition, you will also validate new equipment againstindustrial equipment specifications and recommend modifications or revisions.

Tridium Engineers’ duties include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain multiple Niagara AX Soft Jace andKepware Virtual machine servers

• Add new logic to support plant growth and development

• Coordinate equipment maintenance and systemsintegration;

• Prepare documentation and lead compliance to aplanned maintenance program;

• Investigate Niagara AX related issues andrecommend solutions;

• Revise Niagara AX software where necessary toprevent downtime;

• Assure systems compatibility for controlequipment;

• Verify equipment and systems effectiveness andrecommend revisions or purchase of new equipment;

• Write new and/or revise custom Java and HTMLobjects for specific applications

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Engineering or Engineering Technology orComputer Science degree and 2 years of job-related experience, or 5 years ofjob-related experience;

• In-depth knowledge of Tridium’s Niagara AXsoftware

• High level knowledge of java programming

• Kepware (OPC) development;

• Understanding of HTML, SQL

• Experience with 1D and 2D barcode setup

Top Candidates WillAlso Have:

The following criteria will be beneficial but not required:

• High level experience with Plex manufacturingcloud

• Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills

• Windows Server 2012 Administration experience

• Tridium Niagara AX developer certification;

• Understanding of Python, Linux, C#, ASP.net

• Previous experience in equipment diagnostics,systems integration and maintenance coordination;

• Previous experience with PLC/HMI programming;

• Previous experience working in a manufacturingenvironment;

• Previous experience designing and programmingvision systems;

• Previous experience troubleshooting andprogramming Siemens PLCs;

• Ability to work with a diverse group ofemployees and customers

• Project Management experience
